No Shame Only Power is written to help you gain an understanding of God's plan for you and to walk in victory. Although the book consists of 19 chapters, it is an extremely short and easy read. Mrs. Newton-Knowles speaks on a level as though she is communicating with a beginner.

No Shame! Only Power is written into three parts.

1) The first part is The Story. It merely informs us of the story of God’s plan from the beginning. It gives a picture of the mind of the Father concerning us.

2) The second part is The Place of Victory. It reveals the place of victory and power. It tells why we struggle sometimes and how to walk in victory.

3) The final part is The Path to Success. This part assists you in comprehending the route to success. It helps us to understand the path of success.

I liked the fact the author supplied several scriptures throughout the book as references to give an in-depth and accurate account of her perspective. It makes it easier to go straight to the bible and look those up that she didn’t supply word for word.

This book is packed with a great deal of useful information that will surely expand your knowledge and relationship.

I believe this book is a good source to have as a reminder.

Review: Prayer Never Fails: Especially During Trials by Berney K. Dorton

I must admit the title of the book sparked my interest in the beginning, but after reading the synopsis I was really looking forward to reading this book. I could not have received this book at a better time. Not to mention, I could relate to many of the tragic events she shared. Therefore, it left me anxious and a little nervous to receive this book because of the many different emotions I was already dealing with.

Prayer Never Fails has 14 Chapters and is an easy and quick read. Although, I would recommend you taking your time and really digesting every scripture and story that is shared.  I found myself reading a few chapters more than once and crying during some. Also, every chapter begins with a scripture mainly taken from the New International Version (NIV).

Often times when we are going through trials we feel like giving up but Mrs. Dorton reminds us to continue to pray and have faith regardless of the circumstances. “Prayer should be our initial response instead of our last-ditch effort.”  She highlights five reasons to pray.

        1.       Pray to confess and confront the sin in our lives.

        2.       Pray to thank God for His blessings.

        3.       Pray to develop intimacy with God.

        4.       Pray for cleansing and restoration.

        5.       The righteous prayers availeth much.

I liked the concept of her using real life stories as examples of different trials she faced to insure the readers they are not alone and she is not exempt. Everyone will go through many different trials in life but with continuous prayer we will make it through.

I believe others could genuinely benefit from reading this book because it will encourage them to continue to pray while going through tough circumstances.
