Therefore encourage one another and edify one another, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

March (SIS) Sister In The Spotlight: Steph Adams

Brief Bio
Stephanneth Adams is a Spiritual Life Motivator, Author, and Women's Health CNP (2012). She was born in Maryland to the proud parents Dr. Stenneth & Mrs. Stephanie Adams. Her desire is to use her God-given gifts to help foster the success of women spiritually, mentally, socially, and physiologically. Stephanneth has always found that expressing herself through writing & dance came naturally for her. She is a born Motivator.

This is a gift that she realized in her late teens that God wanted to use. After placing her life in God's hand at the age of 17, Steph began her journey of walking into her destiny. She hasn't always been a perfect woman, but God has always been there to reshape and transform her into the woman that He desires her to be. Steph believes that God has called her to live her life as an inspiration to others. Through her own life's journey she has learned life principles and how to depend on the one who supplies her needs.

What was your reason for beginning Lifes's Journey: Woman to Woman?
My ministry is dedicated to women specifically because I myself am a woman and have specialized in women’s health-primary care. I have always had a passion to help others and to be an impact in the world. I don’t know why, but God chose me to be a role model to young and older ladies, especially in the black community. I notice that many of us have not found our purpose in life. We are lacking educational values, sexual worth, social stamina, financial peace, marriage values, and true spirituality. We are boxed in to fit the stereotypes, even in the church. It’s time the younger generation stands up and says, you don’t have to grow through all of that to learn life lessons. You can learn from the Bible and what you have seen others endure. Younger adult women, need to see women their age doing something with their life. They need to see that it’s okay not to meet the stereotype; that you don’t have to go way down depressed lane to learn. Will they go through things? Of course, we all do, but where are those that want to build a solid foundation and walk into purpose? I also want to help the women who have built her foundation, but needs to tear it down to build a better one. Many of us are trying to walk into purpose, but haven’t done the very thing needed to do so. That thing is GET OVER ALL OF YOUR PAST! Close that door and open the door of purposeful living. You can’t walk into purpose until you have closed your past.

• Share some information regarding your book Life’s Journey: Woman to Woman: Inspiration, Motivation and Truth for the Woman's Journey.

My book is about taking a journey, a journey where you confront your past issues of life in order to heal. Not a lot of books do that. They tell you to get over your past, but don’t take you on a journey to confront the past, deal with it, forgive it, let it go, and close the door. After that section, we journey to a place of forgiveness, peace, purpose, and preparation for God and love. This book empowers, renews, restores, and refreshes you on your personal journey. Life’s Journey: Woman to Woman is available at the following Amazon and www.createspace.com/3572517 with 2$ OFF Coupon Code AUQUQ5HN

What or who inspired you to write your book? At this point do you see any more books in your future? Was it a difficult process sharing your thoughts or translating your thoughts to paper?

I believe that God always had a purpose for me to write. I loved writing as a little girl. I remember writing about teenagers committing suicide, teen pregnancy, life struggles, and more. As a teenager, I had an incline to help others. Writing was one way to express my thoughts. It remains so today. When I was a pre-med student, my professors, used to tell me to write research articles because I wrote well. These were signs that I would eventually become an author. Writing was not a difficult process, but becoming an author was. You spend a lot of time and sacrificing to complete the project. After completing it, it has to undergo professional editing and that takes a long time, if done correctly. After that, you have to publish it and get it out there. The work is never done because marketing is a life time commitment. People won’t know of it, until it’s marketed. Becoming an author is a full time position. However, when it’s your purpose, you feel empowered.

What would you like to leave the readers with?
I want you to know that with God everything is possible. The key is to heal from your past and find your purpose. Everyone is trying to be like someone else. It’s time to just be you. Being you may mean to be a teacher, minister, healthcare practitioner, author, home maker, or etc, but it’s who God made you to be. Begin to accept yourself and your purpose.

Please share your favorite scripture or quote.
Of course it’s:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

February (SIS) Sister In the Spotlight: Sandra King

When I think of a Titus 2 woman, she definitely comes to mind. I am pleased to introduce to you Sandra King.
Sandra is wife and best friend to the love of her life and “king” of her home, Don. She is proud mom of their five amazing “world changer” children. Each one beautifully gifted by God and actively walking out their faith to touch and impact others for Christ.

Sandra is owner and writer of Love Abounds at Home. Love Abounds at Home is a blog ministry dedicated to encouraging and building women in their roles as Godly wives, mothers and homemakers. As a mother and a wife, creating a sacred refuge for her family to reside fuels her passion to be a woman truly living out Proverbs 31 and Titus 2. She is passionate about seeing other women walk in the fulfillment and contentment of being the women God has adorned them to be.

We were living in Idaho when I started blogging. I started blogging after an illness. I wanted something for my children and grandchildren to read about me in case I wasn’t around to share with them. Shortly after that, I was healed and realized just how precious my family is.

Since first hearing about the Proverbs 31 woman, I wanted my life to be a representation of a virtuous woman. I like the word “virtuous” because it has a nice ring to it. I also wanted to share with others the things that I’ve learned throughout the years. I wanted to be transparent as well. With transparency, I knew I had to be real. Being real in an open forum has its risk, but the rewards are far greater. Especially, when I receive emails from other women about a blogpost.

Years ago I took on the Titus 2 mandate by encouraging women in their roles as mothers and wives. I always tell mothers with young children to cherish the time they have with them. One day you will look up and they are young adults starting their lives outside your home. Love your husband, serve him, be his lover and his friend. Most of all, be busy at home and be there.

“You’re a leader, not a follower. You don’t follow the trend, you set it.” –Sandra King (This is something I always told my children.)

Thank you to Sandra King for taking time to share with us. She is truly a great Woman of God. I am grateful to have her not only as a friend but she is also on A Wife's Heart Ministry Team.

January 2012 S.I.S (Sister In Spotlight): LaTanya Scott

Bio:

I'm LaTanya Scott, a married woman of God, with 3 beautiful children! I have an 18 year old son, and 14 and 5 year old daughters.

I am an Ordained Minister, as well as a Christian Counselor whose focus is geared more towards the marriage/family, as I have been through some things in my own relationships and feel that what I've learned, needs to be shared with others who may be going through what I went through! However, I have compassion and a word for anyone going through anything as I follow hard after the Spirit, and try to be obedient to the voice of God! I believe that He sends all those my way that He needs me to be a blessing to or to be blessed by. I also own a wholesale/retail business which I currently run from my home. However, the Lord has recently called me into full time ministry, so my focus is slowly moving away from this business in this season of my life.

The Lord has been opening up so many doors to me and closing many behind me! THANK YOU JESUS! I am just so open and have such a strong desire to fulfill the Lord's call on my life! I am so deeply in love with Jesus and I aspire to please Him in every single area of my life! No, that does NOT mean I am perfect, nor do I claim to be. But what that does mean is that I strive daily to grow closer and closer to Him...to become more and more like Him with each step that I take on this journey called 'life'. I want to be used by Him. I want to be blessed so that I might be a blessing to all who cross my path!

Women Arise!-Ministries:

It is from personal experience that I've learned that we as women tend to NOT trust one another! We often times have a habit of tearing one another down instead of building each other up! So the Holy Spirit placed it upon my heart back in late 2008, to begin a ministry for women. I heard Him clearly to speak to me:
"WOMEN ARISE! WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER! IT'S TIME TO TAKE YOUR POSITIONS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE BATTLE LINES!"

Women Arise!-Ministries is a place where God can use to set the "captives" free! All of those bowed over will be raised up! All of those who are bound up will be RELEASED! Those in need of healing will be healed, those with dead marriages, dead finances, those who are at dead ends, will be resurrected and restored to life! Those who are broken down and defeated, will arise to new levels and realize they are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus! Those who need a word, who need deliverance, companionship, compassion, understanding, knowledge, wisdom, discernment, whatever-WILL RECEIVE IT (I believe it) in the name of Jesus!

It is my sincerest prayer that through this ministry, God will reverse that 'trend,' and be a source of blessing to each and every member, and that we can all be open and honest with each other always. That if there is anyone in the ministry who doesn't know Christ, that they will come to know and love Him with all they are!

I believe that once we can arrive at a place where we can begin to trust one another and we grow in our walk with Christ, there will be NOTHING the enemy can do to us! There is power in numbers! It's time for us women to march right into Satan's camp and take back ALL he has stolen from us! It's time that we possess our rightful inheritances as children of God!

To Share A Bit More About Myself:

About a year ago, the Lord also led me to begin "FROM STRUGGLE 2 STRENGTH," which is an extension of "WOMEN ARISE!-MINISTRIES." It is a ministry for women as well as men. I basically have the same vision for "FS2S" as I do for "WAM." Right now, the Lord has me in a season of preparation. He is refilling and refreshing me; pouring so much new revelation into me, as He prepares to take me to my new level in HIM and in ministry. I am excited to share as He releases me to do so!

My Book:

I self published my first book titled, "FROM CATERPILLARS TO BUTTERFLIES: WOMEN ARISE!, in April of 2010. It is a devotional book for women, which also contains a couple of poems. Many years ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, that I was to write (at the least) 3 books: a devotional book, a poetry book, and eventually the story of my life. I felt led to do the devotional book first, especially since I had already began writing devotionals and sharing them on Facebook, my website and blog. Many have been blessed by them and had began inquiring about my writing a book. So, that was confirmation to me that it was time and so I began! I thought it was going to be a difficult process for me, but I have always had the gift of expressing myself well and have been told that I have a 'way with words.' But I give GOD all of the glory as I know that it is HIM working in and through me..... I am just the vessel who speaks and write as I feel Him lead me!

I am currently working on my second book, which will be a book of short daily inspirational messages and quotes. I don't want to give too much away just yet; but God willing it will be published some time in 2012, so be on the look out for it!

Final Thoughts:

I would just like to end this with a word of encouragement for whoever reads this: I know that there are many things that the Lord has put in your spirit for you to do. Many promises that He's spoken to you, that you have yet to see fulfilled. I know it seems to be taking forever and may even look impossible! Oh, you wonder if maybe you have missed the blessing or if it was really God Who spoke the promises to you in the first place! I know many of your loved ones are laughing at you and telling you to give up and let it go! But let me remind you that God is not a man that He should lie! Whatever it is that God has promised you, He will bring to fruition! Maybe not in YOUR timing, but all things will manifest in HIS perfect timing! Don't get discouraged, my friend! Don't you dare give up hope! Do not pay attention to what you see in the 'natural,' as the natural is temporary and constantly changing; but focus instead on GOD Who is Spirit and Eternal- and always stays the same! God bless you!

Favorite Scripture:

{Psalm 139:13-18} - For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.

October S.i.S: Sister in the Spotlight

We are pleased to announce this Dynamic Woman of God as our October Sister in the Spotlight!!! She brings a wealth of knowledge and joy to those who know her. If you are not familiar with this sister, you definitely need to come into contact with her. You will not be disappointed. Please meet one of my dear sister/friends Mrs. Tony Robinson.

Tony is wife of 20 years to the love of her life, Reggie. She is also mom to their four beautiful and gifted children each walking out God’s purpose for their lives. She is a minister, devotional writer and God-Mom to some pretty amazing kids. She’s is founder of Well Watered Woman; a global ministry dedicated to encouraging, enriching and empowering women in their walks with the Lord. Being radically changed, healed and delivered by Gods amazing grace and love; she is passionate about seeing women walk in all that God has destined for them.

As a speaker, Tony is a woman of vision and purpose who delivers the word of God with passion, transparency, humor and authority. Through her walk of transparency and availability she connects with people and draws them to the Father. Her mission is to leave an indelible mark for Christ everywhere she teaches and speaks.

Her passions include: her family, reading, traveling, Lay’s potato chips and an occasional ice cold Pepsi.

Ministry:

Well Watered Woman began as a blog about one woman's journey with God and the lessons she's learning along the way. As Tony blogged about her life and walk with the Lord, she found other women relating to her posts and being strengthened in their journeys with the King. As more women stumbled upon the Well, it became an oasis. A refuge and resting place where women came to be encouraged, renewed, and refreshed in their walks with the lord. As a result, Well Watered Woman has grown into a dynamic international ministry touching and impacted the lives of women globally. With a vision to touch the lives of women for God at all levels, Well Watered Woman introduced Well Watered Woman Teen Ministry. WWWT is a ministry just for girls ages 13-18 who are committed to go growing in God’s grace. They are phenomenal young women of the Word striving to live their lives in such a way that they take their generation for Christ.

Business:

Tony is also a co-owner of The Popcorn Folks, their gourmet chocolate popcorn company created and founded by her four children. The Popcorn Folks has grown from 2 flavors to a menu that now includes over 10 varieties of flavored popcorn. We ship our popcorn nationwide and look forward to shipping an order to you!

Finding Balance:

Balance what exactly would that be? LOL Balance comes by realizing your priorities. (God, husband, children and everything else.) We have to always be mindful and diligent with our time and what we are investing it into. When we see an area getting out of balance, we have to make immediate changes. Otherwise, our lives become out of control.

Favorite Scripture:

I can't say I have a favorite scripture per say because I just love the word of God so much.

Favorite Quote:
It all works out in the end, if it hasn't worked our it's not the end.

You can also join Well Watered Woman on their 2012 Women of Destiny Conference Cruise on May 14-19 2012.
