Sandra is owner and writer of Love Abounds at Home. Love Abounds at Home is a blog ministry dedicated to encouraging and building women in their roles as Godly wives, mothers and homemakers. As a mother and a wife, creating a sacred refuge for her family to reside fuels her passion to be a woman truly living out Proverbs 31 and Titus 2. She is passionate about seeing other women walk in the fulfillment and contentment of being the women God has adorned them to be.
We were living in Idaho when I started blogging. I started blogging after an illness. I wanted something for my children and grandchildren to read about me in case I wasn’t around to share with them. Shortly after that, I was healed and realized just how precious my family is.
Since first hearing about the Proverbs 31 woman, I wanted my life to be a representation of a virtuous woman. I like the word “virtuous” because it has a nice ring to it. I also wanted to share with others the things that I’ve learned throughout the years. I wanted to be transparent as well. With transparency, I knew I had to be real. Being real in an open forum has its risk, but the rewards are far greater. Especially, when I receive emails from other women about a blogpost.
Years ago I took on the Titus 2 mandate by encouraging women in their roles as mothers and wives. I always tell mothers with young children to cherish the time they have with them. One day you will look up and they are young adults starting their lives outside your home. Love your husband, serve him, be his lover and his friend. Most of all, be busy at home and be there.
“You’re a leader, not a follower. You don’t follow the trend, you set it.” –Sandra King (This is something I always told my children.)
Thank you to Sandra King for taking time to share with us. She is truly a great Woman of God. I am grateful to have her not only as a friend but she is also on A Wife's Heart Ministry Team.
Thank you, Aretha, for spotlighting Sandra!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra for sharing why you started your blog and thank you for the reason that you're continuing it. You have been so instrumental in my life and my daughter's life (look what's happened through it!!)
I know that all that meet you are blessed and empowered just by knowing you.
Love you so much!!
You are welcome Kela. She is definitely a blessing to those who have the pleasure of crossing her path.
ReplyDeleteI did not know the original reason that Sandra started her blog. I do know that every time I read something she has written that I feel such a positive and uplifting energy. Thank you for spotlighting her!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! She is a fantastic woman! So strong, and passionate about every part of her life! She is a wonderful example of a Proverbs 31 wife!
ReplyDeleteThank you, future Mother-in-love, for being a great example, and also, for being the Wife and Mother that God has called you to be! I love you!
Bless God!! I know personally that not only is Sandra King a virtuous woman but Aretha is too and I have been blessed to call them both friends! Love you ladies!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize the reason why Sandra started blogging either, but, through some circumstances I have had the honor in becoming friends with such a dear precious sister. God knew I needed a dear friend like Sandra, she has been a true blessing to my life and I am so thankful for her.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice getting to know Sandra a little bit more. Beautiful woman with a beautiful heart for family. As a Mother to an adult, married daughter with my two little grand girls and a Mother to a college baby girl I can tell you that the time goes by fast. I once held little ones and NOW we are empty nesters. It's a new season and it has it's absolute blessings but I still miss having my daughters young and at home. The time does fly by and now, I love being a Grandma to two precious little ones. Living a life as a Godly woman in whatever role(s) God permits us to walk in, is so important!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aretha for sharing Sandra. You both have hearts for the Lord and it shines!
Much love!
