Therefore encourage one another and edify one another, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

No Marriage Is Perfect

Today I came across a video of Gerald and Tammi Haddon who are doing youtube videos on "How to Stay Married". The following video is a special guest appearance from Erica (Mary Mary) and Warryn Campbell. It is so nice to see couples who are being real and exposing their flaws. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Although, some people would want you to believe they do not have any problems within their marriage.

Hope you enjoy.

My Chains Are Gone.

I would have to say that this past weekend was a trial for me. The devil was busy starting Friday. Now I was really upset and wanted to respond but I knew that was the enemy trying to get me off track. I knew I had something for the enemy. I pick up the bible and got into the word. I went to bed feeling much better about the situation. On Saturday I was thinking about how the devil tried me, but I was still praising God and giving Him glory.

Well Sunday at church the Pastor was talking about releasing the chains. During the entire service, I was so happy because I knew that message was for me. I had allowed the enemy to get to me because I had not released the person and things that was causing me to get so upset. Just so you know the enemy reared it's ugly head again Sunday evening. Guess what? I did not get mad or upset. I began speaking to that situation. I have truly turned it over to God.

I'm happy to say My Chains Are Gone!!!!

Is there something holding you back or causing you to get upset? Whatever it is I ask you to release it now.

In Christ,
Deaconess Aretha

Declutter

I have been taking the time to declutter my life. I know it may sound minimal to some but I feel as though God is doing a work within me. He began with those who were close to me and now on to the household. I have been going through things to give away and throw away. I know it is truly meant to be because I have not had any problems letting go of anything. You know how you are sometimes when you think you may use it later or you may lose weight and then you will be able to wear it. Well, that was not the case this time.

I must admit it feels REALLY Good to get the clutter out of my life. I feel as though I can breathe again. You never know what may be holding you back. In my case it was people and possessions.

Take time to see if you need to declutter your life.

My Help

It's a New Day...Let go of the past and start anew. Whatever you did not do the weekend, it's okay because today is a new day. You have another chance to make things right or accomplish what you were not able to do before today. You must know and acknowledge where you help comes from.

I give God all the praise for allowing me another chance to glorify Him. All of my sins are forgiven and I have another chance to make things right. I am not going to wallow in self pity or allow myself to have a state of mind of I cannot do something. His word says that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 I will always hold on to those words. No one can break me down because He said it and it is so. Praise the Lord!

My Help Comes from the LORD

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore. Psalm 121

Taking Some Time

I have taken some time away from blogging and really hitting the internet all together. I would check emails and try to respond to some. I just needed some time to get myself together and work on some other things. I am a wife and homeschooling mom so I must be dedicated to allowing myself time to see that it's done properly.

There is always going to be a list of things to do and the list will continue to get longer and longer. I have finally come to the realization that I don't have to complete everything on the list in a short amount of time. I mean is the world going to fall apart if I don't get something done? I have always made every effort to be the one to try my best to stay true to my word. I will not say that I am going to do something and not follow through (unless it's beyond my control). I will give you a call or notice. I think that is the most appropriate thing to do.

Now I have learned to just roll with it. I will do the most important things first and then just go down the list. It has taken me a minute to get used to it, but it really feels great. I don't need the added pressure or unnecessary stress.

There was never enough time in one day to complete everything I felt I needed to accomplish in a given day. So therefore, if you cannot complete your to do list in one day, you need to make another list.

Don't feel discouraged if you can't complete everything.
Peace and blessings!

Don't Worry

I love God because he listened to me, listened as I begged for mercy.
He listened so intently
as I laid out my case before him.
Death stared me in the face,
hell was hard on my heels.
Up against it, I didn't know which way to turn;
then I called out to God for help:
"Please, God!" I cried out.
"Save my life!"
God is gracious—it is he who makes things right,
our most compassionate God.
God takes the side of the helpless;
when I was at the end of my rope, he saved me.
Psalm 116:1-2

You don't have to carry around the burden of worrying. Give it to God. Place it all at His feet and Trust Him to work it out.

My Fabulous Friday!

Well my fabulous Friday consisted of me shopping for my daughter. I had some grocery items along with some other last minute things I had to get for her, but since I will not be seeing her often, I had to make good on the time that we have before she leaves.

I know I will miss her and this is a good thing but I am still her mother and I will always love and be concerned about her. I love all of my girls and will always be a concerned mother.

Blessings...

To Trust You Is To Believe

I wanted to share this poem with you about trust because I feel it is really hard for some to trust God with their all. It can be a daily struggle to Trust God when you have things going on in your life that are not going the way you planned. We have to have faith in God and know He will take care of us. Feel free to share your thoughts regarding trust in the comment section. I would love to hear from you.

To Trust You Is To Believe

Sometimes it seems impossible
To trust in you my Lord
But then again it’s all I have
When my backs against the wall

The pressures forever mounting up
And worsens with little hope
Though I pray and leave it with you
It’s so hard for me to cope

I know, O Lord, you teach us patience
Especially at those times
You want us to trust completely
Though answers are hard to find

And there are times it seems as though
You have stepped back from us
We feel so much alone in our mess
Not knowing you’re watching with love

You never really leave us Lord
Nor forsake us in our need
You only want us to trust you
And in your word believe

You know the circumstances we’re in
And know the struggles we face
The situation when given to you
Can empower our faltering faith

For in your word we’re told to give
To you all our anxieties
And all the worries and fears we have
Praying for the needed victory

For in due course you will come through
To bring the needed relief
And through it all we shall develop
A stronger and deeper belief

I'll Trust You Lord!

The Lord has placed the the word "Trust" into my spirit. It is so easy for us to place our trust into man (person). Someone who can disappoint, misuse and turn their back on us. Even after all of that we still have some trust they will not do it again. When it comes to giving God our all, it is very difficult for some to completely trust Him with their whole heart. I am here to let you know that I serve a God who will never leave me or forsake me. Man can tell you anything, but God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent. (Numbers 23:19) He will always stand on His word. He is a man I can always depend on to be there for me. I know we have all been disappointed by someone we love at some point in our lives. It may have been a parent, child, brother or sister and we still love and trust them anyway.

When you trust God, you are relying on Him to work in every area of your life. You have the confidence that He will work everything out. We know God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, and to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) We have to move out of the way and let Him work. He knows the plans He has for us.(Jeremiah 29:11) So we need to trust Him to handle it all.

Why not love and trust Our Heavenly Father with you whole heart?

Lord there are some things going on right now in my life and I'm trusting you to take control. People can't fix it or even make the situation better. Father Only you can. I stand on your word that all things are possible to him that believes. (Mark 9:23) According to my faith, I believe that it shall be done. No weapon form against me shall prosper.(Isaiah 54:17) God I trust you and I will not move until you say move. You are the only one who can shine light on every circumstance. I love you and I trust you with my whole heart. Amen!

Precious Lord

God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand.
I'm an open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
I'm never out of your sight.
You know everything I'm going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you're there,
then up ahead and you're there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
I can't take it all in!

Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit?
to be out of your sight?
If I climb to the sky, you're there!
If I go underground, you're there!
If I flew on morning's wings
to the far western horizon,
You'd find me in a minute—
you're already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, "Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I'm immersed in the light!"
It's a fact: darkness isn't dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light, they're all the same to you.

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother's womb.
I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I'd even lived one day.

Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful!
God, I'll never comprehend them!
I couldn't even begin to count them—
any more than I could count the sand of the sea.
Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you!
And please, God, do away with wickedness for good!
And you murderers—out of here!—
all the men and women who belittle you, God,
infatuated with cheap god-imitations.
See how I hate those who hate you, God,
see how I loathe all this godless arrogance;
I hate it with pure, unadulterated hatred.
Your enemies are my enemies!

Investigate my life, O God,
find out everything about me;
Cross-examine and test me,
get a clear picture of what I'm about;
See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong—
then guide me on the road to eternal life.
Psalm 139 (Message)

When Things Get Heavy

When things get heavy and you don't know what to do,
remember that God is always there to see you through.
Although you may not think or see that He's working it out,
please remember as long as He's in your heart you will not have to fight.

Trust and believe that He has your back
because as along as Satan is around you will always be under attack.
When things get heavy, cry out to Him.
By having faith and letting Him work, is the only way you will win.

Day of Reflection

Sometimes we get so busy and caught up with our everyday routine that we don't stop and take time to really give God the time He deserves. I decided that I would take today and sit back and reflect on the things of God and what He has called me to do. I must say that I am constantly amazed at some of the things God has commissioned for me.

I have so many things on my plate right now and to most it may seem as though I cannot handle everything. I am here to say that when God gives you an assignment, He will also give you the necessary tools needed to complete. Just when I think that I am so busy and I can't handle anything else, I am handed another task. I know that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Even though you may have many obligations, you still must take time and give God His time. Give Him His due praise. After all, where would you be without Him?

Until next time...
Blessings!

Testimony Tuesday

Today is Testimony Tuesday.

I will begin by saying that I have felt like giving up so many times, but I know that I have an assignment that I must complete. When I knew that I was to begin a Women Ministry, I did not want to do it. I wondered why did He choose me of all people. I felt that I would not be good enough.

I will tell you a little about Sisters Of Honor Women Ministry. It began almost 1 year ago as an online ministry. S.O.H. focus is to encourage, empower, and edify all women through the word of God. There are alot of lonely and hurting women seeking help on many different levels. All have endured some type of pain.

Today I must say that I was overjoyed with emotions from some of the women who are apart of Sisters Of Honor. When you have women who have been misused and abused in any form, it is difficult for them to let go and open up to someone and ask for help. It takes alot of courage for some to ask for help or admit they need help.

Over the past few days I have noticed a good number of them opening up and asking for help. I knew at that moment that I could not give up and that I was where God wants me to be at this time. I immediately thought, what if I have give up and quit. Where would these ladies be or who would they have gone to and been open and honest about their situation?

They have helped me in ways that I could never have imagined. While I am there to help them, I am also being encouraged. I receive strength from them as I pray they are receiving from me.

You never know who you may be called to help, but that very person may also be the one to help you.

To visit Sisters Of Honor website http://www.sistersofhonor.org

Please share your testimony. If God has been good to you, let the world know.

Peace and Blessings!

Awesome Husband

My darling husband decided he was going to fix breakfast this morning. I was so excited because he was going to make pancakes. This morning when I woke up his pancakes were on my mind. I thought to myself that is sad to go to bed with pancakes on my mind. I was looking forward to it. Then I realized, it was not the pancakes I was looking forward to. It was the fact that my husband was cooking them. I must say they were the best pancakes and were even in the perfect circle.

It's not like he has never cooked before, but it was somthing about this time. He is a great husband and an awesome father.

I'm looking forward to him grilling on tomorrow. Yes, that was his idea to.

Lord of Hope.

Things may seem bad right now and you may not see a way out of your situation, but God is a God of hope. We cannot do anything in our own strength, but through Him all things are possible. Trusting in Him with your whole heart is the best thing anyone could do because God keeps His word. God will bring us true joy and peace through His word.

Thankful Thursday!

Today is Thankful Thursday. Of course, you probably tell Him everyday what you are thankful for. You must stop and think of those who are not used to speaking with God on a daily basis. Even those who appear to be holier than thou don't always stop and say thank you. The important thing to remember is when those words depart from your lips, you should mean what you are saying. It's easy to merely say the words thank you, but do you really mean it?

Lord I thank you for waking me up this morning in my right mind and for your grace and mery. I thank you for being health and having food, shelter and clothing. Father I thank you for my family, friends and the ministry that you have entrusted in me.

Have you told him thank you today? And were you sincere?

Is It Vacation Time for You?

It's the time of the year when alot of families go on vacation. How many families are going to take a trip this year they cannot afford? It's one thing to save up for your expecting trip, but if you have to borrow money or use credit cards I think it is obvious that maybe the vacation needs to be taken at a different time or maybe a cheaper trip. I think it's great to take time to spend with your family if you can afford it. Why would you put yourself in a more difficult financial situation? Is the trip really worth it? It can cause more trouble than it's actually worth. You have to pay all of the money back that you did not have in the beginning.

Weigh your options. Can you go at a later date to get a cheaper rate? Are you trying to impress someone who most likely could care less? You will go and most likely enjoy yourself.Guess what? When you return home, you are still going to be in the same financial situation you were in before you left.

What's more important? Your families financial status or your trip?

We Matter To God

We Matter To God

As we come before you Lord
And worship at your feet
You pour out your blessings upon us
And meet us in our need

Whatever we are facing
We can leave it with you Lord
And walk away with confidence
Knowing you will bear it all

For you are God almighty
Our God in whom we trust
To unload us of our burdens
And shower us with love

Lord you are so wonderful
To care about our lives
Each small, insignificant detail
Each tear that we cry

For everything about us Lord
Is so important to you
You want to be involved in our lives
In everything we do

So I can't help but praise you
For the loving God you are
You care so much for every soul
And you're never very far

That we cannot touch your heart
Every time we come to pray
And we can come into your presence
Each and every day

A Letter From God About Women

This was sent to me and I wanted to share.

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being.

When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils.

But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate.

I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity.

From one bone, I fashioned you.
I chose the bone that protects man's life.
I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do.
Around this one bone, I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully.

Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile.
You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart.
His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life.
The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart.

Support man as the rib cage supports the body.
You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side.

You are my perfect angel. You are my beautiful little girl.
You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill when I see the virtues in your heart.
Your eyes - don't change them.
Your lips - how lovely when they part in prayer.
Your nose, so perfect in form.
Your hands so gentle to touch.

I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep.
I've held your heart close to mine.
Of all that lives and breathes, you are most like me.

Adam walked with me in the cool of the day, yet he was lonely.
He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me.
So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me, I fashioned in you; my holiness, my strength, my purity, my love, my protection and support.
You are special because you are an extension of me.
Man represents my image, woman my emotions. Together, you represent the totality of God.

So man, treat women well.
Love her, respect her, for she is fragile.
In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me.
In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father, and the heart of her Father.

Woman, support man.
In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you.
In gentle quietness, show your strength.
In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.

Did you not know that as "WOMAN" you are special in God's eyes?

What God Has For Me, It Is For Me.

Have you ever had someone to always seem to take your ideas and count them as their own? It doesn't even have to be anything big. Just the most simplest thing can attract someones attention. I have come to terms with the fact that people will always be watching you to see what God is doing in your life. One thing they fail to realize is What God Has for you, is for you. It does not matter how many times they take your ideas because if God give it to you, it will prosper. No one can take away what God has ordained for you. So, for those who can't seem to get their own ideas, pray and seek God for yourself because He will give you what you need and you will not have to copy someone else. It's okay to get some ideas from someone else( and give them credit), but when you are constantly getting something from the same source that begins to be a spirit of jealousy and competition.

You must continue to pray for those and ask God to bind that spirit.

Fabulous Group of Women

I am very blessed and thankful for being connected with a fabulous group of women of God. I do not take this group lightly. I am very serious when it comes to the things of God. Sometimes I get so excited when I come on and see the women who are connecting with others. It really touches my heart because it is not all about you as an individual. We are here to touch the lives of others through words of encouragement, prayer, phone calls (because there have been plenty) or whatever way the Lord leads. In turn, we are also here to be uplifted and empowered in our natural and spiritual life.

I encourage those who have not connected to please be a part on a regular basis. It could be said that most of us lead a very busy life, but we still find the time to come on here and send some love and encouragement to someone else. The majority of us have never met in person, but it has never been an issue because we want to share the love of God. Considering what I have been through and is still here to tell the story, is enough for me.

It has truly been awesome. Everytime I receive an email or phone call from someone who says how much she really enjoys the group, I feel like doing a happy dance :) because I know the vision God has given me is being carried out.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Be Thankful!!

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach
you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.

I'm Still Standing.

Today I reflect on the past three weeks or so that the enemy tried to distract me. I remained faithful and trustworthy in my Lord and Savior. With all that was going on, I knew I could not give the enemy any attention and eventually he would have to flee. The word rejoice has been in my spirit for the last two weeks. I rejoiced each and everyday through it all because God is faithful and I was determined to stand strong.

When I sat and pondered about the things the enemy was throwing at me, I realized God was placing some new people in my life during those trying times. I am so grateful for being diligent.

This morning the scripture James 1:17 came to me as soon as I opened my eyes. Every good and perfect gift comes from Above. I was excited again because it was so fitting for my past months trials.

I am thankful for all of my new found friends and those who have remained faithful during this trying time.

A Birthday Blessing.

Today I will celebrate my birthday. I am so grateful the Lord let me live to see another year. He has brought me through a lot of things and I am thankful because He didn't have to do it. I feel truly blessed because He loves me so much that He has allowed me the freedom to continue on here on earth.

I have had several people ask me what I want or what do I want to do for my birthday and my answer was surprising to some. I just want to celebrate life.

I would like to thank everyone for their birthday wishes through phone calls, cards, emails, text, chat etc. I tried to respond to everyone individually, but just in case I missed someone. I am extremely happy you all of thought of me.

Thank You God

I am so thankful for the wonderful people God is placing in my life. I am so greatful for each and everyone of you who offers support for Sisters Of Honor in any way. No role is taken lightly.

Thank you to Sister Gwen Stovall for the opportunity to share with your listeners about Sisters Of Honor Networking Group. I am so greatful for our paths crossing. You have been extremely helpful. You are truly an inspiration.

It is awesome to know those who are willing to reach out and help someone. It really shows your true character. You are willing to help others grow in the things of God.

I ask each of you to please reach out to someone. Make it one of your priorities. You never know who may gain strength and encouragement from you. It may be as simple as one word "hello". Touch someone's life.

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (New Living Translation)

Hater

HATER BY MAYA ANGELOU

A hater is someone who is jealous and envious and spends
all their time trying to make you look small so they can look tall.

They are very negative people to say the least. Nothing is ever good enough!

When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters...

That's why you have to be careful with whom you share
your blessings and your dreams, because some folk can't
handle seeing you blessed...

It's dangerous to be like somebody else... If God
wanted you to be like somebody else, He would have given you what He gave them! Right?

You never know what people have gone through to get what they have...
The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don't know my story...
If the grass looks greener on the other side of the
fence, you can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too!

We've all got some haters among us!

Some people envy you because you can:
a) Have a relationship with God
b) Light up a room when you walk in
c) Start your own business
d) Tell a man / woman to hit the curb (if he / she isn't about the right thing)
e) Raise your children without both parent being in the home

Haters can't stand to see you happy.
Haters will never want to see you succeed.

Most of our haters are people who are supposed to be on our side.

How do you handle your undercover haters?

You can handle these haters by:

1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are (VERY IMPORTANT!!)
2. Having a purpose to your life:
Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be unfulfilled.
A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be.
Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you.
3. By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not human manipulation.

Fulfill your dreams! You only have one life to live...when its your time to leave this earth, you 'want' to be able to say, 'I've lived my life and fulfilled 'my' dreams,... Now I'm ready to go HOME!

When God gives you favor, you can tell your haters,
'Don't look at me...Look at Who is in charge of me...'

~Maya Angelou

Please don't take this poem and boast about having some "Haters". Continue to pray for them. You must always react with a Christ like attitude.
